Winter Refresh
Brighten up your home once the holiday decor is down! With most of you packing away your decorations for next year, it’s time to prep the home for winter. Arguably, it’s the most important season in our homes as it’s when we spend the most time in them. I just love the fresh feeling after clearing out all of the holiday decor and I also get the itch to redecorate or start a new project. While a room redo isn’t always necessary it can be a great time to reimagine and organize a space. Below I’ll be sharing some easy ways to refresh your homes for the winter-
Organize and Declutter:
Declutter, declutter, declutter! As soon as those decorations are boxed away, each room instantly feels lighter. Take this opportunity to look at the space in a new light. Are you using the space efficiently? Too many books or picture frames on that console table? Remove unnecessary furniture and utilize that storage closet or attic of yours. An open space feels brighter, homier, and cleaner. Even just rearranging the furniture can give your home all the new feels.
Now is also a good time to purchase some organizers and storage containers. We’re all cooped up inside anyways, so why not be productive and make your home more functional. Woven baskets can go a long way to hide the clutter. You can add them to shelving, tuck them under tables, next to sofas/chairs, etc. I also love adding those clear organizers to drawers, cabinets, storage closets, to help store everything more efficiently. Or how about those massive piles of mail and bills that need to be sorted and stored better?

Lighting:
Proper lighting plays a huge role in any room and during the winter, the brighter the space the better. Consider adding a floor lamp to a dull corner that may not have good natural light. Or maybe a table lamp for some extra reading light.
Sharing some pretty and practical options below-
Mirrors:
Mirrors are an excellent way to not only make a room appear more spacious but also brighter. You can strategically place mirrors around your home so that natural light can bounce off of them. The best place to put mirrors is on east and west facing walls in range of sunlight from your windows because the sun will be hitting them for half the day. Another option is to hang them directly opposite a window which will also increase the light in the room.
Florals & Color:
It can be dark and dreary out there this time or year, so why not bring in some softer hues and fun florals. You can incorporate these elements in a variety of ways that aren’t necessarily expensive or daunting projects. Check out some easy ideas below:
