Coffee Tables

Coffee tables can make a big statement in your room, so let’s get it right! I have collected an assortment of favorites below in all different sizes and styles below and listed a few helpful tips to consider when making your selection

1. Measure and Determine Shape - First things first know all of your dimensions and narrow down your shape preference. Choosing between a square, rectangle, round, or oval coffee table boils down to the length and clearance required around it. You want to ensure enough walking space between the table and couch as well as the table and TV without feeling overcrowded. You also want to avoid a table that’s too low and awkward for guests. Make sure it’s height is even with the couch cushions or just slightly below.

2. Balance - Make sure your coffee table compliments the surrounding furniture pieces in the room. If you have a heavy dark seating, try to offset with a clear table whether it’s glass or lucite as too many dark colors will weigh down the space. You want the space to feel proportional and balanced.

3. Materials/Needs- Chose a material that will work well with your lifestyle and your space. Obviously families with small children or planning to have children should steer clear of glass or fabric ottomans that could stain easily. If you have a small space, a lucite coffee table is a good way to not visually clutter the room. Perhaps your home is in need of storage and a chest or table with many drawers would be useful.
