Our Antique Home Updates
As some of you know, we’ve lived in our home in New Canaan for about 2 years now. We’ve always been suckers for a good antique. When we were searching for our new home back in 2017, our current home was one of the first that we looked at. I fell in love with many of the historic aspects of the home (original hardwood floors, exposed beams, etc.), but there were a few aspects that were giving me all the bad feels. The master bathroom, lack of master closet space, powder room, and kitchen all needed some TLC.
After we looked at a bunch of other antique homes throughout New Canaan, we circled back to our home with the perspective of doing some projects to make it feel like ours. We decided to roll up our sleeves and do the dirty work. Living through construction is not a pleasant process, but overall everything went well and we are so pleased with the final results. I’ll break each project down into different blog posts so you can see before and afters as well as hear about exactly what we updated.
